Art at the Library: Brushes to Blades of Steel by World Figure Sport

The next featured exhibit for Art at the Library is Brushes to Blades of Steel, a captivating pop-up museum collection by World Figure Sport Society, not-for-profit. This collection celebrates the Art of Skating and the current figures and fancy skating that happens at the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on black ice, and will be on display in the Cantwell Room.

Mark your calendars for the event finale on January 24th, from 5:00–7:00 PM, where you can enjoy hors d'oeuvres and take in this extraordinary exhibit.

Additionally, the library will feature Robert Louis Stevenson’s skates and historic images from the Adirondack collection, showcasing skaters of Saranac Lake’s past. Robert Louis Stevenson was a practitioner of the Art of Skating, which consisted in drawing patterns on the ice. This special historical exhibit will grow and continue through the end of the Winter Carnival.
